Motivation is a local-first quote app. This policy explains what information the app uses, what stays on your device, and how to contact us.

Information Motivation uses

Motivation may use the following information to operate the app:

• Onboarding choices, selected tags, reminder preferences, favorites, and theme settings.
• An anonymous installation ID used to support app configuration, quote generation batches, analytics, and deletion requests.
• Basic product analytics such as quote impressions, likes, copies, downloads, skips, and app version.
• Subscription status from RevenueCat and the App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Local-first behavior

Core app data such as favorites, current quote position, themes, reminder preferences, and same-language fallback quote queues are designed to work locally. Motivation does not require an account.

What is not uploaded by default

The app is designed not to upload free-text struggle notes by default. Online quote generation uses structured preferences, selected tags, language, and behavior signals instead. Generation prompts are designed not to include your anonymous installation ID, IP address, device details, or raw free-text notes. If that changes, the app experience and this policy should be updated before the feature is used.

Service providers

Motivation may use service providers for subscriptions, analytics, crash reporting, app configuration, anonymous event processing, and quote generation. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Motivation. We configure quote generation providers so Motivation generation requests are not used to train their models.

Data retention

Motivation keeps information only for as long as needed to operate the app and maintain the service:

• Local app data on your device, such as favorites, reminder settings, selected themes, and local quote queues, remains on your device until you delete it in the app where available, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
• Anonymous recommendation events sent to Motivation servers are retained for up to 180 days.
• Anonymous onboarding snapshots, recommendation profiles, installation records, and subscription status mirrors are retained while the anonymous installation remains active (up to 180 days of inactivity), unless you request deletion earlier.
• Quote generation jobs and rejected generated content are retained for up to 90 days. Approved generated quotes may be kept as part of Motivation's content inventory when they no longer contain personal input. If approved generated content is linked to your deletion request or contains personal information, we delete or anonymize it.
• Server access logs, which may include IP addresses in infrastructure logs, are retained for up to 30 days.
• Service providers such as Google Play, RevenueCat, and Firebase may retain purchase, analytics, crash, and diagnostic records according to their own service terms and retention settings.

Deletion requests

You can request deletion of anonymous server-side data associated with your installation by contacting contact@dailylift.app. We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days and stop using that installation's recommendation profile and events after the request is processed. Local data on your device can also be removed by clearing app data or deleting the app.
